Transforming Chilliwack’s Health Care

Access to quality health care in a timely and efficient manner is vital to residents of Chilliwack and surrounding communities such as Agassiz, Boston Bar, Harrison Hot Springs and Hope.

To best serve the needs of this rapidly growing region, the Fraser Valley Regional District and the Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation are jointly investing in the redevelopment and expansion of the Chillwack General Hospital.

The Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation has committed to raising $5 million for its Campaign for Health Care Excellence.

The redevelopment and expansion of CGH is comprised of three phases:

1. 1.Building a New Emergency Department triple the size of the current facility, accommodating growth from 37,000 to 45,000 patient visits per year
    
   

2. 2.Expanding and Integrating the Ambulatory Care Department (Outpatient Services) which will ultimately decrease patient visits and wait times
    
   

3. 3.Consolidating Laboratory Services and Diagnostic Imaging adjacent to Emergency & Acute Care departments, providing patients and physicians with more convenient access to these vital services
